The sun shone again on the annual Pembroke River Rally - which has become a much looked forward to event on Pembroke's South Quay with great attendance and many charity stalls along with children's entertainment. The real reason behind the River Rally is important - to maintain the right of passage up the Pembroke River : Castle Pond has been blocked by a barrage which means that boats are no longer free to come and go as in past times when Pembroke was a port. West Wales Maritime Heritage Society, a Society with which we have close links, leads the way - David James piloting the flotilla which winds its way up the river to dock at the South Quay. Pembroke Town Council organise the entertainment and stalls - all in all a great day in Pembroke.
